First off, Im new to all of this. Ive made a post about this before and to no avail. This time I took some pictures. Ive got a P06 converted to a P28, HULOG, and many different cables. Ive had John Kerr helping me a little bit in the past and I simply gave up on it. I came back today and tried it again with some new cables. Same thing. Maybe someone can see something that Ive done wrong? Im running a brand new HP Pavilion dv2000 with Windows Vista.

The only thing that doesnt make sense to me is the Baud rate between the PC and Chrome. The only way I can get the laptop to connect to the ECU is with a Baud of 9600 in Chrome and 38400 on the PC. This is Pictured below as well.

strange, my port settings are the exact opposite.
38400 in Crome and 9600 in settings. (then again I only have a serial cable setup on this computer)

what did you load as a driver for the HULOG? (right from moates.net correct?)

yes i got everything from moates.net. Ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling a few times. Ive gotten the drivers from the CD I got with my HULOG a few years ago, and from the website... maybe if i switch my bauds to the exact opposite itll work?

well you're obviously getting communication of some kind, I'd bet it's a setting somewhere that's corrupting the data stream. try switching the settings.

**edit**
Now that I had a chance to look at my other computer, I have my USB driver set to 38400 and Crome set the same.

It looks like you have the black and white wires crossed from your ECU to HULOG. They should be wired straight through. I'm using a P28 and HULOG and that's how mine's wired. See the first page of the thread in my sig for a pinout diagram of the ECU. My CN2 cable looks exactly the same on the HULOG side as it does on the ECU side.

i actually did get it working. i have an older HULOG which is wired like that for some reason. i did a p72 computer and got everything running right

i think that my problem was what someone had mentioned before. I think that i was running a GSR map in the computer and trying to log with a p30.

thanks to all that have helped me!
