So, I tried to install the latest TE on my laptop, but, the missing msinet.ocx file came up. So, I tied to register the ocx file (I placed it in the system32 folder) , but regsvr32says couldnt find the file (even tho I can see it right there!) I then try to register the one I placed in the TE directory, and it says it loaded, but there was some kind of error.

So, I tried to install the old TE as well as the super old ecuControl stand alone program to help...It did not help at all. In fact, when the ecuControl stand alone was trying to install, it too couldn't register certain files!

Anyway, the funny thing is, the older version of TE (2.5.2) installs and runs fine on that computer. A few things I noticed is that the older version of TE will install in the program files(x86) folder, while the new version installs in Program Files...in other words, the older version installs itself int he 32bit version of program files directory, and the new version does not. I tried to change the install director to the 32bit program files folder, but no dice.

I dont get it...I remember having a few headaches with my desktop machine that has windows 7, but in the end, it works fine...maybe because this version of windows is 32 bit?

Arg, this is frustrating. Any advice?

besides the c:windows\system32 folder, do you have a c:windows\sysWOW64 folder?
from what i've read, vb6 applications (on 64 bit systems) have to be run using the windows on windows emulator... i'll have to read more into this...

good thing i have a 90% working vb.net rom editor...cause it looks like after win 7 there is no more support for vb6 applications.

Couldn't fix Hulog to work on win7 x64.
Using x64 driver from http://www.moates.net/usb-device-drivers.html and FreeLog 1.0.7.8.
ECU made at phearable.

Anyone?
Cheers.
