Justin, here's how it broke down for me, your mileage may vary:
-Eeprom Programmer (
http://www.batronix.com) - Batronix EEprommer kit, with ZIF option = $49.50
Prog Studio Light License (use with EEprommer) $15
-29C256 Chip = $5 (
http://www.moates.net)
- 28 Pin Low profile ZIF socket = $7 (
http://www.moates.net)
Dual (15/30) wattage Radioshack soldering iron = $10
Solder sucker pump = $7 (Radioshack)
Desoldering braid = $3 (Radioshack)
This does not include shipping or tax, grand total of $96.30.
If you need an ECU, expect $50-75 in addition, and if you want to mod for ECUControl (of course you do!) you'll need the Max233 Adapter kit, which was $23. Again, this is minimal, you'll probably want to get a couple eeproms instead of just one, I got a little soldering tool kit at radioshack that was like $8, and you'll need some solder (duh). Hope that helps, -Z
BTW, this post should really either be in the Ghettodyne or General sections of the forum, this is for development related subjects.
