Hello again. I'm starting ot get discouraged or maybe I'm just a little over my head with large 780cc injectors?
Anyway..
Tuning in open loop makes more sense to me; You want the ECU to reach the set point and do as little 'correcting' as possible.. you want the ecu to do the least amount of
correction or (when in closed loop) it will overshoot the target. Am I right?
The reason for my question: I had an extreemly hard time getting my h22 to stay running with a basemap that someone (with expereince) made for me. The a/f ratio didnt register on the wideband because it was so lean. >18
I got another bin from a friend with a setup almost identicle to mine but was street tuned for a GSR motor. (same 780cc PTE injectors on both motors). I noticed that he had basicaly double the value in the idle columns that I had on my 'h22a base map'. I burned the GSR base map and I was able to keep my motor running for the first time.. I increase fuel
15% across the board and it started up better and ran a little smoother. I'm starting to get a/f ratios from 16-18 but it's running rough was poor tip in.
My question: In closed loop, how much and how fast can the ECU correct the a/f ratio when the values are 10-20% off in the idle columns? I'm asking because the only difference between my setup and my friends setup is his is running in closed loop and mine is not. His car idles, and mine does not.
This bugs me.. because I know from expereince that a stock P72 idles an H22A.
I'm at the point where I'm wondering if I should keep adding more fuel or start looking for a mechanical problem.
