So, I'm running the Demon2 and Neptune RTP currently, and have been looking for a way to siphon some of the logging data off to another program, without interrupting Neptune's functionality.

What I want to do is take the VSS and INJ Duty Cycle live data, and direct it (even if it lags by 50ms or something) to a calculator program on the tuning laptop to display current, tank, and long term overall fuel mileage. I would also need to find someone to write a program that does just that (and only that).

I am most decidedly NOT a software guy, so any help must come with 5 year old speak, kid gloves, and much patience.

NepTune's data stream is not public and we don't recommend reverse engineering other people's work.

HTS may make theirs available since it's free.

I don't care about Neptunes stream per se, only taking the data that the Demon2 is outputting onto the usb cable to pc, and how to pull specific data live out of it. I still have the datalogging header on the Demon2 available, if I have to use that and use two usb ports on the laptop. I just need instructions on how to get said data.

The datastream is depends on the software you use on the Demon2. If you use it with Neptune, than it's Neptuens own datastream.

Then why the inclusion of a 4 pin header on the Demon2? If not for pulling data from it to another device or program? There's got to be something.

For moates bluetooth module for example. The Demon2 is just an emulator. The datastream depends on the software in it. If it's Neptune, than the datastream on that port is a Neptune protocol too.

HTS and Crome golds datalogging info is here for the data stream.

Neptune uses some of the same formulars but no ones going to tell you what byte addresses since thats private info.
