Here is the way to download the CVS source of either ECU Control or TurboEdit with no corruption, I tested both to compile fine with VB6.

1. Get yourself TortoiseCVS, it's a CVS client with shell integration, I use it all the time. http://www.tortoisecvs.org/

2. Install as normal, not hard at all

3. Reboot

Now for the fun parts, getting it to work properly :)

To get TurboEdit downloaded properly and no corruption etc...

1. Make a new folder where you want to contain the sources (example... PGMFI on your desktop)

Image

2. Open that folder up...

3. Right click in the blank space of the folder and click on CVS Checkout

Image

4. A new window will popup, fill it out as shown, don't fill out the top line, it's generated by TortoiseCVS, also don't change anything, or it most likely won't work, and that just sucks.

Image

5. Click On OK and sit back and watch the open source goodies come down, got 56K? Get a pizza...

To Get ECU Control....

1. Follow steps 2 through 5, except change the module name to ECU_Control , don't forget the underscore, that'll break it too :)

There you go folks, open source tools in your own hands :)

Any questions, PM Me

I'm sure anyone unfamiliar with CVS would be really thankful for this one!!!\

Anyone care to make that a STICKY? As more developers join in, they will find this very helpful I think.

Nice work! Maybe I'll finish up some OBD0 code if we can get the editor development rolling again too...

Having some trouble...Coming up with "no such repository" and "try a real password" errors and then a failed download notification.

Any ideas?

are the lastest sources still on svn?

I tried to cechk out the soruces at
http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/pgmfi/
and
http://pgmfi.cvs.sourceforge.net

and I get this error
Code:
OPTIONS of 'http://pgmfi.cvs.sourceforge.net': 200 OK (http://pgmfi.cvs.sourceforge.net)

This error basically means that the repository url is no good.

ideas?
