so i have bought a burn2 chip burner and it is usb. when i have turbo edit open and the burner pluged in. i try and burn a rom or open emulator or anything that has to do with the chip and it says "No Comm Ports Dected On Your Computer" witch is true since its 2012 but have can i get it to look for usb burner with out looking for a com port on the computer.

thanks for the help. sorry if this has been cover 100 times but i cant see to find any info on it

burn2 or any other "simple" usb device creates "Virtual com port" (you plug in a usb device but windows see it as a com port)

turbo edit can use devices with com port number 1 to 8 and burn2 probably is over that number

you have to change port number in advanced options of windows (device manager) to the one between 1 and 8

TE doesn't directly burn through the Burn2. You have to install "Flash&Burn" from moates.net.
