yes...change the read interval (originally 4ms) to 1000ms and see what happens. it will in essence "read" from the ostrich much slower, hopefully giving it enough time to respond.

i use an ostrich 2 and it has worked for me every time.... :?

I tried 1000,2000, and it still gives me an error that it is an incompatible rom. I save it anyway and I can not open it. I'm using a DELL with a 400mhz processor and 256mb of RAM on XP.

you have the switch on the side of ostrich to 28 pin, ( dam I can't remember the other switch). the ribbon cable with the chip on it connected to the ecu and ostrich, right?

I'll just keep messing with different things and combination's I guess.

yeah, I've yet to get this to work on my laptop...... It works on my pc, so I know it's not my ostrich, but I'm still stumped. It's really not that big of a deal though, I just save very very often, ie after every change.

It`s not a big deal.Uploading works just fine, and that`s the crucial part! When you are done with your tuning just save everything in turboedit, close it, open EMutility and retrieve your file from Ostrich.
