im new on these stuff of reprograming ecu. my questions is can i use a regular usb cable as a datalogger. and what do i need to so my computer reconize it ?

it's called an HULog. it comes with drivers. works as a USB COM port.

Also the reason you can not use a regular USB is because of the signal voltage differance between the ECU and the personal computer. So you have to use a convertor that makes a signal voltage change and enables the two to be able to communicate. This is known as a TTL to RS232, the ECU uses TTL and personal computers use RS232 +. So the easiest and quit possibly the cheepest thing is just buy the hulog, hondalog, or the cable that xenocron has.
