Somebody Please help.

Datalogging doesn't seem to be working in EcuControl4a. Screen appealed empty no data at all.

I have a B16A2 in an '92 Civic EG9, apparently using a chipped P28. No knock board, so knock sensor disabled in all roms. Using P30-based ROMS from EcuControl.

Had a NOKIA datalogging cable equipped w/PL2303 chip.

J12 removed on ECU.

Using a TOSHIBA laptop, PIII 600 w/128Mb ram running on Windows XP Pro. USBdrive driver installed.

Car runs, no CEL, very smooth accel and decel, VTEC and redline adjustments work properly, but I cannot seem to get any data out of my ECU.

Am I still missing something?

Did you set ECU control up and try to connect? Does it connect?

On the screen bottom LHS, it shows connected, but there is NOTHING on the screen!

What else should I check?

Baud rate = 38400 8,n,1

Also remove J12

Search for Calvins DT5, there is a rom called 203stockdt5.bin or something like that. Disable Knock & try it.

Jump TX to RX on the ECU side of your USB cable. You then load hyperterminal Direct to comm1 (or 2) and connect 19200 8,n,1 no flow control & should see an echo of all characters typed

Thank you so much Itdannear.

Found the problem @ last.

The wiring @ the USB for the ECU side was mixed up.
(Shorted TX to RX on the ECU side of your USB cable. You then load hyperterminal Direct to com1 (or 2) and connect 19200 8,n,1 no flow control & should see an echo of all characters typed ) This advise help me to troubleshoot. Thanks again.

Also I've used the 203stockdt5.bin.

Now I could Datalog, and also RTP could show it is connected.

:) BTW. ECUcontrol doesnt work well for OBD1 some value not correct TPS for example is innacurate.
keep an eye out for open source datalogging thread in OBD1 as I am writing it for OBD1 crowd.
