Hi All,

Back then people were s******g their pants with joy after Dell put out a laptop with TWO USB PORTS! Nowadays, I see the V8 guys using IPads and Android tablets to tune with.

So... I have an engine and ecu from a 1991 JDM CRX SiR (lost the trans and axles, but that's a story for another forum), and I need to drop them in my American 1991 CRX Si.

I imagine, with the leaps and bounds made in the intervening time, that my info on tuning the ECU is woefully out of date.

Could anyone please tell me, or at least point me to an info source, on what the hot ticket is for tuning these things yourself?

Thanks!

Gonzo

from 2000 to now... (crap that was 17-18 years ago, I feel old)
first, welcome back.

If you are talking OBD1, then IMO Neptune(http://hrtuning.com/) with a Moates Demon (http://www.moates.net/demon-p-208.html?cPath=95) and bluetooth(http://www.moates.net/neptunedemon-bluetooth-module-addon-p-298.html?cPath=69) update/logging is hard to beat.

Thanks!

[EDIT]

So, the demon is a piggyback board that goes inside the case, and acts as a breakout box? Wow, sure beats soldering in a burning socket and ribbon cable!

So, back then, to use the JDM ECU w/stock maps, all one had to do was add a VTEC trigger wire. I'm guessing converting to OBD1 will require more.

Off to do research...
