Hello y'all! Great site Great info!

I have a Obd1 p72-a01 which is constantly throwing a error code #9 (CYP Sensor) and all my diagnosis leads me to the hic1 daughterboard (NY1DG).

Im having difficulties finding another Obd1 p72.

What other ECUs have the hic1 NY1DG daughterboard?
Does Obd matter?
If its just a revision wouldnt i be able to put any other Hic1 daughterboard in its place ?

I have a spare P05 Ecu which i haven't look at yet because im assuming it will not be compatible.

Thanks hope to hear from y'all!
And happy holidays

Ok after reading a bunch about the possible causes, i have replaced C17.
Now code 9 (cyp) is intermediate.

I drove about 8miles really getting on it in the highway, casual driving thru the city, and as soon as i got into my neighborhood pulled up to a stop sign check engine light came up. :x

Now i did replace C17 with another 21 year old tantalum from a donor ECU.

So im going to try a new one and see what happens, but if anyone has any input, tips or ideas im all ears!

My headache is turning into a migraine lol

Check engine light is now as soon as i start it.
Had the idea of putting the P72 into my 95 civic(d16a6) and got no error code #9, but as expected error code #21 and #41.

Funny thing is if i put my P06 into the Integra i get no codes.... argh

i guess il restart and recheck wiring

B2 BRN/BLK LG2 ground to shields for CYP & TDC

Never knew there was a 3rd wire for the CYP.
Going to give it a go tomorrow

:D

Pulled out the multimeter everything checked out OK.

A friend of mine asked if i wanted to use his scope so i decided to drive on over.

CYP wires had little to no noise, then i moved the harness and all of a sudden was not getting a pulse.

Reset the ecu, wiggled the harness started it up and no code.
While it was running i wiggled the pin and got a check engine light.
Boom !
Pulled the pin cleaned it up, squeezed it for a tight fit and slid it back in
No more code!

I saw this and laughed.. was expecting a hand held device lol
