right im in the uk and ive put a b18c4 (ukdm mb6 vti engine) into my eg. ive used a odb1 vtec interior loom a p28 ecu and the engine loom from the vti.

ive got a chip burner and plenty of chips ect. i cant find a map in p28 code for a b18c4 so i thought i would have to make my own.

ive got the stock bin from the jdm teg which got the b18c4 engine
ive got a stock d16z6 map in p28 code

i copied over the low cam fueling and ignition and adjusted the columns and rows this was no problem but then i came to do the high cam fuel and igntion and there were some extra rows in the p28 code and not enough in the jdm teg code to copy over. ive been reading through the crome start up guide loads of times but i cant seem to get my head around it.

can someone explain this too me? keep it simple though haha.

or if anyone knows of a b18c4 map for a p28 that would save alot of time.

I am assuming you are using Crome because you keep saying p28 code/rom. Why would you want to use a p28 code. You can not use any plugins and can not datalog the p28 code/rom with crome. You want to use a p30 rom. Paste the p72 tables into the p30 rom and tune.

You will have to use the p72 tables. This is close for a great start on a b18c4. You will NOT find a stock binary file for the b18c4 motor that will run in a obd1 ecu. This is because the b18c4 is obd2 and obd2 roms will not work in obd1 ecus.

always use a p30 rom in crome unless you have iab when use the p72. But remember the p72 rom datalogs funny in high cam.

Nice one. I was confused about using a p30 Rom on a p28 ecu I think. So I start with a p30 map and just put the p72 data into it then disable knock sensor and remove the check sum. Then burn it and fingers crossed?

Open a p30 base rom, import P72 tables, remove checksum, add datalogging and P30 hack, then make the adjustments you want and go from there.

If you have crome pro and rtp board, id suggest using gold.

Crome does have a vtec pressure switch disable option but it does have a bug in Crome free and Crome pro. Dealer does not have this issue as far as I know. If you are going run a vtec solenoid or spool valve without the pressure switch. Cut the wire of the pressure switch and wire it in to the vtec solenoid wire. This will bypass the pressure switch.

I did a bit of a search and I think I can just run a wire from the 2 pins inside the ecu saving cutting into any loom. I think I will try this as it sounds easy enough.

If your using gold, you can disable it in the bin, if using other crome, jump a4 & d6 as said to bypass as the plugin to disable it has bugs.

It's the new format that Crome was moving towards with a lot more features and options. Open the gold base rom, import the tables you want, then all you have to do is set the options you want. It fixes many of the bugs, and does away with plug in pretty much.

Ahh cool I will have a look at it. Iv had the car on the road and there's no fault codes but vtec isn't working. I bridged the 2 pins in the ecu which got rid of the fault. The car was up to temperature and seems to run great except no vtec. Any ideas?
