will running at 3k rpm at 14-11 vacuum (column 4-5) at 14.7-15afr yield better mileage than

down shifting and running at 3.5k rpm at 21-17 vacuum (col. 2-3) at 16-17 afr?

i was just thinking because even though at a leaner mixture, its in a higher rpm which in turn also causes much more fuel?

If you had to work harder for the same pay and tire yourself out vs hardly working for the same amount of pay while taking it easy which one would you prefer?

There are many variables, but just check it yourself. Compare IDC to speed.
