Greetings!

I own a 2011 CR-Z EX with a Takeda Momentum intake and a Black Label Fabrication cat-back exhaust. No other mods. I have no experience with modifying the ECU of any car, although I can do all of my own mechanical mods and maintenance. My question is whether there is any point in purchasing a Hondata Flashpro. Some say that there is really nothing in the ECU to modify unless installing either a turbo or supercharger. Opinions?

All factory vehicles come tuned for emissions. That means there's room for improvement. Up to you.

Thanks for the quick reply. Two questions:

1. There seems to be little information about the use of Hondata equipment on this forum. Why?

2. Most posts/threads seem to be related to older model Honda ECUs. Are the newer cars not popular for modifying? Why?

Just because Hondata are own forum for these products and we are on a general forum with no connection with any manufacturer.

Do you like to support someone who sued "you" for something someone else did? I doubt it.

Quite of your opinion Inspector01, mainly regarding your first sentence.

Hondata attempted to sue the original owner of the site... you'll see a sticky post about that at the top of any forum section here. You won't get much advice about their products here. Visit their website and support forum instead. :)

Good luck with your project!

To all responders to my posts... Sorry, didn't mean to bring up bad history... I have skimmed through the official Hondata forum, and it seems that the answers to user's questions are generally vague and evasive. More interested in CYA than helping.

I definitely am interested in learning more about automotive computers. I've been interested in computers since the 1980's. (I'm 70.) Done some programming in everything from Basic to C, however no experience in the languages used with automated machinery, of which CANSF used by Honda is part? Where should I start? Recommended books? Equipment?
