I have a JDM F22B DOHC (non-vtec). Mods I did, Headers / Intake / Catback. Plus I remove my catalytic converter and oxygen sensors (2 of them).
Below is the details of Phearable ECU:
1 x Chipped Obd1 Non-Vtec Ecu - Vehicle Year/Make/Model: 1997 HONDA ACCORD EX - Rpm Revlimit: 6800 - Map Sensor: STOCK - Injector Size: STOCK - Engine Model & Year: F22B DOHC NON-VTEC YEAR??? - Engine Details: ENGINE WAS SWAPPED INTO 1997 HON - Cel shiftlight point rpm: 6200 - Disable Oxygen Sensor: YES - Add A Conversion Harness: Obd2a To Obd1
Note that I requested for "disable oxygen sensor" which is why I am confident to remove them. The exact ECU code was not given and the item does not have the code stamp.
When I receive the package there is a piece of paper and one of the items says I need to unplug the IAB (intake air butterfly) vacuum making it to stop functioning as the phearable ecu is not supporting it.
In my carelessness I overlooked this and went on with the new ECU. the engine runs great at 900rpm and quiet. After 2 mins, I run the car at 40-60kph, til 2nd gear and started to encounter misfire. I did couple WOT which reached at 6krpm, and I felt the misfire went worse. I finish my test run in less than 15mins and the car becomes really sluggish.
I checked my spark plugs and all of the four are black carbon (no oil). Before I installed the chipped ECU, I installed a new spark plugs.
I cleaned the spark plugs with WD40 spray, and replaced with my old ECU (P0J from the original F22 SOHC engine). the engine went fine again, except for the usual misfire caused by the fact that I removed my o2 sensors but the spark plugs never turned black.
Finally, my question: Can the problem be related to the unplugged IAB vacuum hose as instructed? My CEL light is not working so I could not tell. though I am having my OBD scanned this weekend.
