So I've got a d16y7 & d16y8 complete motor sets, ecu, trans, the works. In my 95' civic, which I am putting the mini me into is the d16y7 auto trans, p06 ecu. In my now totaled & purchased from insurance agency I've got a d16y8.(obviously vtec). This car also has the manual trans which I'd also like to swap during the mod. This car also has the P2P ecu. My question is which is the best combo of motor, trans, ecu? BTW; I've also got a spare p2e ecu laying around. I want to keep the vtec, switch trans to 5speed, & have the best, most reliable outcome possible with what I've already got. Should I drop the entire Y8 setup & all & install all of it into the 95' or is there a better option?? Please clarify my indesision & give me some of your input!! Much appreciated. Hope that all makes sense.

That was pretty confusing, but just swap in the Y8 and either run a chipped ecu or get a conversion harness to the stock ecu.

You said reliability, but all Y motors have a really bad history for oil pumps. So before you go installing any of the motors replace the oil pump with a new honda pump. IMO
