It came with a D16A8 I purchased through Craig's List. the guy I bought the engine/trans from said it was faster than his 99 Si. I haven't driven it yet (still sitting on the floor in the garage) I needed the trans more than the engine. Has anyone information on this on? I have peeked inside to find it does not have an external EPROM. And it does not appear to have been modified ( everything looks stock and factory clean). The research I have done shows this engine came from a Rover model available in Euro. Any info would be appreciated. Not exactly sure where this A8 will end up... I have a few projects in mind.

Your post is incorrect. The pg7 ecu came in the 86-89 integra. d16a1 motor. Be careful for the 86-87 ecus are vaccum advance. The 88-89 ecus are electronic advance. 88-89 ecus have a external eeprom but I am not sure about the 86-87 ecus.

the pg7 is a pretty decent option for the zc motor and other variants of the zc
the pg7 has a higher rev limiter and no speed governor iirc. the tables are a lot closer for the zc but you will be running a little rich ...which per say isn't all that bad.
However...chipping the pg7 can be a pita as it uses the larger eproms. you'd be better off chipping a pm6 and installing the appropriate bin.
X2 on the vacuum advance 86/87 variant!

From my own experience, a PG7 will run worse on a DOHC D than a stock 90-91 PM6, but it has the proper 7,800RPM rev limit.

The best solution, IMO, is to run a stock EDM PM7 bin in a chipped PM6. This will be one of the best, simplest drop in and go setups for any JDM or EDM DOHC ZC, not so much for the USDM A1 engines, since they have crap cams and even worse intake manifolds.

:) Thanks for all the input! Especially Acid Beaver with all the tech on "stock EDM PM7 bin in a chipped PM6".

I have a direction to go in, now to get some cash in hand to start the project.

8) The Acid Beaver ROCKS!!!! The direction was excellent! Purchased the PM6 (from eBay, it was non-external PROM) and piggy backed a ZIF on the XROM (thanks to the great forum threads found right here on PGMFI.ORG :D ) wrote the bin file to a 29C256 70 NS and dropped it in my CRX Si ZC SOHC and it works great! Improved accelleration rate & smoother power. Next will be bin from CRX SiR... gotta try it 8)

Here are a few pics of my project, wiring could be a little cleaner. This is my first attempt at this. I am sure my work will improve as I go :D
