Monday afternoon, Some 63 year old "Didn't even see me", made a right turn into my pass. side as I was going thru an intersection. I swerved but no way to miss that damn minivan. How do you miss a red car in broad daylight??

The car's a total loss.. at least 2 grand in body/suspension damage... plus 2 airbags. I'd rather take an extra week in Tokyo than staring at the ceiling and sitting in waiting rooms.

I don't know if it's true, but I've heard that red is the second hardest color to see with gray being the first.

How come Cops have no trouble seeing red...

That's like #1 ticket-getter color... or maybe yellow's #1 and red's #2..

I am assuming you are OK?

Try to buy the car back from the insurance since they are totalling it. Would make a great parts car for another rebuild.

Greasemonkee may be right. Color blind people see red as a greenish brown color, and it may just blend into the road. I hope the old fart had good insurance!

I'm Ok. I'm built like a brick sh$t house I guess - even though I'm 5-10 and 130#... my wife was the one who took the most from the hit. She's still in pain but recovering slowly.

I thougth about buying the car back.. but how to get it home (rt-front tire is popped and suspension is busted), and where to store it... and as-is they aren't giving me enough money to even buy a replacement hatch.. We're probably going to buy my mom's toyota pickup for the interim, pay off the credit cards and prepare for the arrival of the 2007 Honda Fit in the US.. :)
