Blundar you are too kind.

This thread is more than just about a few people here who are now trying to commercialize their once free product, it extends to priacy as a whole.

Maybe in this forum we need to take a different approach, rather than having an absolute stance on everything being free we should maybe comprimise.

The fact is that all of use are getting older and money becomes a greater concern, I think we all if we had the chance to take a hobby and turn it into a business, we would all do it.

Maybe we should foster an enviroment where we help others achieve commercial success and ask that those who do "make it" gto ive a bit of money back to the forum and give other members a significant price break.

With the way things are going no doubt other ROM editors will start charging money, if we all alienate them then we deter them from giving back to this forum.

It would be sweet if we start up projects with the primary objective to make money and take down the big guys. How we would co-ordinate and how to divide up the money would be tough, it would all be based on the honour system.

this is not exactly related but... believe it or not, it is on the bigger scale. i recommend yoga. it changed my life, and allowed me to see things so clearly it's not even funny. meditation is good also.

Frank has taken it to extremes on MANY boards in the past 2 months.

He even got a 1 week ban on Hybrid.jp!

I was just reading this and while I'm not trying to bring back an old thread, at least the Honda editiors are accessable. I've been following the DSM ecu developement and that's a mess. There is at least one editior for stock 1G ECU's that's free, but it won't do as much as Crome or Uberdata or TurboEdit. Most of the work is done with either a hex editor or TunerPro. A couple people will share code, but there is no sharing of .xdf's even though I would imagine they are all pretty close.
It would be nice to see more work on Honda programming and I wish I could contribute in some way, but my knowledge of programming is just above 0.
