 Post subject: SPEEDOMETER NOT WORKING

i have a 98 prelude....everything was running great until my speedometer decided not to work....i have two ideas of what could be wrong...the plug on the transmission or the speedometer is just gone....if anyone has any other ideas or if this has happened to them....please share because my vtec will not engage since i have a stock computer....thanks

Yeah, check for a bad connection on the sensor and maybe on the gauge cluster. Had one that the sensor gears poped up and off the ring but it was a 95.

alright thanks....my tranny is right under my engine making it very difficult to get to that sensor...if you have found out an easy way to get to that sensor...please let me know... thanks

It's alittle bit of a pain but you can get to it from the top on the passanger side. Use a stubby ratchet with a wobble, if you need to take it out.

i checked the connection on the transmission, it was fit perfect. anyways took it out and plugged it back in just to be sure. the speedometer still didn't work. then i took the speedometer out and disconnected all the wires and connected them again and still no.

So now i think that my speedometer has just stopped working. If you guys have any other suggestions of things i should check, please tell me!!
