I bought this off a member years and years ago. It was non functioning....

I repaired it, and has been rather faithful ever since.

Batronix 3.3 Paralell EEPROM Programmer

It can program MANY chips, but important here it can program 27/29 variants, and the 27SF variants.

I used this thing to burn my customers' chips for years. It can be a little frustrating erasing 27SF512 types sometimes... i added a switch to make it less painless... but I should have added a spdt switch instead to make it a one flip operation.... but since I didnt you just jumper a wire in the process of erasing the chip (on-screen prompts instruct you) and it usually works fine. sometimes takes a few tries. you can see the two pins you add the wire to, they are darker in color, or more polished off and reflecting better. all the switch does is disconnect pin4 [as instructed] from pin 24 [as instructed]. As pictured: switch down is connected, switch up is lifted or open.

Every 29C chip I have programmed went on the first shot... same with 27C.

$30 shipped. Comes as pictured w/power supply, and with silicone to secure the power switch, wire, and used as feet for scratch a resistant bottom. Also you will be emailed a copy of the programming suite. Shipped via USPS Priority (2-3 day delivery).

cheap and it works.
