Hi

I know this seems to be a dead part of the this forum, but i thought i will post here.

Currently been trying to chip my PR3 ecu, but getting constant CEL and Solid ECU
So far tried chipping two with the same result then purchased a PR3 with some bs fuel saver chip but it still gave me the same result.

But anyway im determined to get it going in my b16 CRX

Cheers

PR3 obd0?
first step to check is ur solder contact.
2nd step is check ur CHIP. make sure its 27C256 if u use 27C512, u need to off set HEX 8000 when burn chip.
3rd check correct rom burn. (u cannot get a OBD1 rom file put in to OBD0 ecu)

i have done many chipping... most is rom issue... like example JDM version have KS board, if u put JDM rom into USDM that dun have KS board without turn off KS in editor, that will make solid cel.

**correct me if im wrong. :D

There is no obd0 usdm p30 and the usdm obd1 p30 has a knock board. If you have a rom with the knock enabled and a ecu without a knock board it will NOT cause a soild cel, just a knock sensor code.

Make sure the rom you are running is the same obd as the ecu.

Hi Guys!

Thanks for the reply's, i have been checking a couple of the ecu's i have.

Turned out there was a poor soldering on the PW0 ecu i had, that was giving me high resistance, found it and fixed it yesterday.
Installed in the CRX today and went perfect, same with the two chips i had burnt for it. so one down one to go.

But most importantly i can finally start getting in to tuning this car and learn the process :)

good luck. i had experienced once too when 2 months ago... contact failure due to board copper linkage damage. tiny damage and need to use micro scope to find out.... haha... that waste me whole day....
