If it hard to find SMD type of diode, just replace with 1N4148 or 1N4150 or 1N4449 High speed switching diode. It work well
Dual diode smd cheap and very easy to find.
Example : http://www.conrad-electronic.co.uk/ce/en/product/153208/Infineon-Technologies-BAS-40-04-Dual-Schottky-Diode-120mA-SOT-23

I frequently use in my productions.

That is superb cheap price, thank you dip for the link

dip may i know what the vertical scale is for the sine wave used in the picture? The trigger points appear to be +1/3 division and -1.5 divisions. I'm assuming that 0V in in the center.

Just for confirmation, can i test ckp cyp tdc signal direct to ecu in real time while engine is running with oscilloscope?

Is there possibility damaging the ecu?

Im using Dual channel dso oscilloscope with max input 35v laptop base.

Hi All,

I just bought an oscilloscope and am trying use it to diagnose a code 4. After removing the H1H1 (or NY1DG in my case) connected the lead from the oscilloscope's frequency generator to the CYK and CYP inputs, and connected the channel A lead to the output for each circuit.

Unfortunately, for both the CYK and CYP circuit I'm only seeing a sinusoidal wave as the output! I was only getting a Code 4 from this ECU so I think I must be doing something wrong with the test.

See pictures below for both circuit tests, the settings on the oscilloscope, and the output of a test where I just clip channel A of the scope to the signal generator-they're al the same!

Here is the circuit diagram that I'm using: http://forum.pgmfi.org/download/file.php?id=8510

Am I doing something wrong, or are both circuits defective?
