I am looking for a way to disable a stock ECU from reporting code 20 (ELD) from inside the ECU. I found a site that says to clip R136 & R138, but they also say to chip and disable with software. What would happen if I remove the resistors? Wouldn't it still show a code 20 since the circuit has been cut?

I'm not looking for adding relays and jumpers under the hood. But a mod inside the ECU itself.

R136 and R138 have nothing to do with what you're trying to do. They allow datalogging 0-5v on the ELD input accurately.

It can be and is probably a way to spoof the ELD input and PA - but I have never tried it, and I know nobody. They are probably as variable resistors, which returns some excitement back to the ECU - watch component testing in a manual Helms should be revealing.

Just connect ELD pin to ground with 1k resistor inside ECU:
