Hi guys,

Having some issues with my Ostrich 1 giving me a solid cel, I was just wondering if anyone knew where I could get the most upto date firmware for the ostrich as I think it may solve my problem from what I have seen in some threads.

I have found this page http://www.moates.net/documentation.php ... tion_id=22 which explains what to do but no firmware is present. I also found some files from http://moates.net/phpforum/viewtopic.php?t=979 but the files don't exist anymore.

If anyone could help that would be brilliant as I really need to get this working so I can start on fitting my turbo :)

Many thanks, Ben

Thanks for the file mate, worked this time.

Still getting the solid cel, I have replaced the batteries for brand new ones and tried multiple maps but still getting the cel and engine management light on, only thing that can be at fault is the cable or the ostrich itself, :( anything else that could be the problem?

Many tanks, Ben

It seems to work fine with a chip in the ecu which is weird, I have a chip burner coming tomorrow so I'll burn some of the maps and try and read themaps off the ostrich.

Thanks, Ben

bit of an update, it seems that to be a power issue with the ostrich, when its connected to the laptop it will display the map on the chip which I can read off with my burn1 but as soon as its disconnected from the usb the map wont show, It has brand new batteries so is there anything I can do? I will try it tomorrow in the car connected to the laptop and see if the car will actually run like that if so it's not too big a deal as I will be able to tune the car and burn the chip and install that as a long term thing.

Cheers, Ben

im running into a similar problem with my Ostrich 1. When ever i hook up to an ecu i get a solid cell in either crome, BRE, and EcTune. but if i burn a chip and install it in the ecu no solid cell works great? whats this power issue you where talking about?

I had a v1 ostrich die on me once. Mine had to be RMA'd and itr was replaced with a v2. Try these things in the link below and if that doesnt work, email moates at support@moates.net for more help.
