sorry i didn't drop this sooner. i am working on a much more wiz-bang solution but it is slow going due to all my other projects. since John Cui posted his little markup utility, i thought i'd get off my lazy butt and post mine for those of you out there who are jEdit whore's like me (or who don't use windoze).
