Ok I want to know how I can go about seeing what is going on from my ecu I have a d16z6 transplanted into my 90 civic all OBD1 wiring has been done. Running a P28 ecu. My question is do I have to use the 27C256 EPROM allong with the 74HC373 chip to be able to watch what is going on? Or can I just use the 74HC373 chip and the USB converter to be able to see. The reason Im asking is I live in california and Im having a problem with HIGH NOX 3 times the legal limit at 1986rmps (2168ppm) and then at 2167 rmps (438ppm) it drops under legal limits. So Im trying to figure out whats going on. ANY info from you guys will help me alot.
Thanks in advance to anybody that can help this newbie

You need a SERIAL cable, if you go to the store and get one for an external modem it will work fine.
