hi there,
im new to this dataloging thing. how come for some reason i cant datalog anything on my laptop...but for my desktop it logs some weird thing...it says 330 rpm even though the engine is not running(key on start)...i know that my com port is ok for both computer because it works for my programmer. ohh and 1 more question.....how do i reset my ecu so my CEL wont be on the next time.......thanx for your help

To reset ecu remove the back-up fuse(i think 7.5 amp) for 5 minutes.

larrow,
i've tried inverting the tx,rx lines.....the laptop now can read something....but its same as what i stated above....getting 325 rmp eventhough engine is not running and coolant temp 290 degree F....when i try to invert the wires again...doesnt log anything....is there something wrong with my ecu or is it the max233?

use these settings....

and see if works, if not invert the tx rx...



i was having, these weired resuslts, but after set the parity to none, and invert tx and rx have worked......

also note that the rpm and vss is not working right.....

loook if map and tps sensors are working, synoptic is to release a new version for abd1...

larrow..ive did what was shown on the link......no results.....but when i invert the lines i get 1 result and its what ive been talkin about above....i think it have something to do with the software because when it does pick up data.......it seems stuck....it wont refresh(numerical values)....very wierd and frustrated...is there any other approach to bypass this problem

Guys... when Using the Max232 thing, make sure you are using the MAX233 chip an d not the 232...

maybe it has to do with that.

what cable are u using..... it must be streight cable, not a nul modem.....


i know what results are you talking, it just log one value for all sensors, and stop...., if you try to read any adress is give to you the same result....


in my case i have remake my cable, and inverted tx and rx, then worked...

synoptic...i am using the max233 chip....i ordered it from the website. larrow.....i made my own cable....it's a thin flat ribbon cable and its straight...and your right it picks up the sensor but log only once...but the wierd thing is that i cant read the burnt eprom and when i click on adress it wont get anything....weird.......o and i think cal is right bout the 232 and 233

i have a p28-a02 ecu......and im running a laptop with win xp with 1.7 ghz using ecucontrol.......

maybe you can try other chip???
or other program....

you can run any p30, or 28, in these ecu.... try other just to see if works...
